Seven Years and counting...

Seven years ago today (pretend this post was on Sunday, May 23rd) I married such a great guy! We had such a beautiful wedding, good friends and I hope great food (I didn't have any). As you can see, Mark is such a caring hubby. I know in his actions as well as his words that he just loves me so much and I really appreciate that! Ok, enough of the mushy stuff...This year we wanted to celebrate with our kids during the day, then go out on our date. Since our anniversary fell on a Sunday, we celebrated the day before. Where did we start you might wonder? Where else???? BOWLING! For those of you who might not know me that well, I LoVe bowling. I'm not very good, but I do enjoy it. I was in leagues when I was a kid with my brothers with my dad as our coach and we won every year. You must know that with a league they use a handicap. If you aren't as good of a bowler as another, you get "bonus pins" to make it even. So if your average is 110 and you bowl 125, because you improved 15 pins you would do better than someone who's average is 227 and got a 230. I'm not sure how it all works and it really doesn't matter except I didn't want you to think I'm really good when you see these scores and get disappointed. We hadn't bowled since my birthday last year so gotta love the warm up game. Andrew did better, last year he used the metal "rollar coaster" where you put the ball on top and push it down, but this year he threw it himself each time. Here are some pics, which I know is what most of you would want to see instead of reading...
Once Julie starts walking we'll let her try it out too.In the mean time, she sits bored. She did really well actually. You can tell that Andrew wasn't very interested in the outcome, if the ball hit any pins or not...Being a little camera shy for us.I promise we fed her and brought food for her to eat, she just liked the taste of my jacket best!
Scores for the first game, let me remind you that this was a PRACTICE game...I had to get a picture of this. Andrew got this, its hard to see but it's the entire back row, only the back row. How do you get them all down?Well, he came very close, got all but 1 down, good job Andrew!Second game, not bad!We did get a little distracted the second game. We had this lady show up. She was throwing her little girls a birthday party. Before the guests got there she let them bowl a few frames. One of the little girls was younger than Andrew, she would cross the fowl line and throw the ball. This is very dangerous as the lanes were very oily and she could slip. Well, one time that she did this she didn't throw the ball very hard and it got stuck a short distance out there. A worker who had happened to be walking by saw this and was coming to get the ball the proper way. As she was coming, the older sister, about 7 or 8ish I would guess, went out to get the ball herself. Yes, she walked on the lane and yes, she fell over and just about nocked her head. The worker had calmly told the kids to not go out on the lanes, it is very dangerous. The mother at this point was very upset. She was saying things to the worker like, "you don't talk to my kids like that!" The worker explained that the kids were not supposed to go out there but couldn't get the words out since the mom was making her appologize to her kids. Her kids were laughing at this point. HELLO?!?!?! She was just doing her job, your kids could be hurt but she didn't care. She was very rude and Mark and I wanted to yell at the mom ourselves since the worker was doing a very good job at staying calm and trying to keep the kids safe. Anyway, we had to take a picture of her. It was sneaky but here you go...

She's the one with the video camera stuck to her face. We left soon after since our game was over and I found the worker and told her we heard it all and we thanked her for doing her job, the mom was a little out of control and thought she didn't need to be treated like that.

After bowling we came home, got the babysitting bag ready and took the kids to a neighbors house. As soon as we walked in the house, Andrew was off with the 3 other boys running around the house and having fun. I didn't even see him when I left to say goodbye. Mark and I went to Chili's, we were tired and didn't want to drive to Reno for a great restaurant (that would be about an hour to drive one way) so we settled on Chili's. It was really good and we had a great time out together. We got our kids, who did GREAT at the sitters (we love good sitters!) and we were off home. Everyone was tired from our day out. I know it didn't seem like a lot but with how much wind and cold we had the day before and buying 7 new trees for the yard, we were all a little tired still and we had church the next day. I had a great anniversary! I look forward to many more. I love you Mark!!!
